Aquiring, manipulating, projecting, and analyzing Spatial Data for use in these two teaching programs. Providing support during the two programs, and to participating Public School teachers after completing the programs.
assisted with maintenance, design and implementation of the "Surface
Mine Mapping Project" funded by the West Virginia Division of
Environmental Protection (DEP) with a full supervisory role including
hiring and firing capacity. Supervised and conducted QA/QC for image
registration, digitizing and attributing of surface mine maps by students.
Wrote and edited ARC/INFO aml's and other programs used for the project.
Designed and implemented a working MS Access database used to monitor all
aspects of the project from quality of data to quantification of output.
Provided data to several agencies via ftp and creation of data CD's.
Assisted Faculty and Staff in the College of Agriculture and Forestry with
various projects including a Bat Research study and the West Virginia
"Rails to trails" project.
Digitized historic landcover maps and entered training data from
aerial videography for supervised classification of Thematic Mapper
imagery for the West Virginia GAP Analysis Project (GAP).
radio-tracked 10 Northern Saw-whet Owls at Assateague Island, Maryland
for my Master's Thesis project. Analyzed home range, habitat use, and
roost site characteristics.
conducted songbird surveys by spot-mapping and nest searching at
Cooper's Rock State Forest in Monongalia County, West Virginia. Identified
and measured vegetation at nest sites.
Censused colonial waterbirds for the twenty year national waterbird
census in the Chesapeake Bay. Did boat maintenance. Entered data in
